Hello. My name is Gerald Nanninga. Thank you for visiting my blog site, called Planning from Nanninga.
I will be using this space to provide my opinions on business strategy and strategic planning, based on my nearly 30 years in the business world, particularly in retailing.
Sometimes we'll talk about current business events from a strategic point of view.
Sometimes we'll talk about general business strategy theory--basic principles on how to succeed.
I'll even take requests.
I'm going to start by telling interesting stories which help to teach strategic principles. Think of it as a sort of Aesop's Fables for Business.
Some of what I propose is controversial and I appreciate any comments or critiques of my ideas. I'd like to get a good dialogue going on strategic issues. That way we can all become better through the combined expertise of us all.
In today's economy, full-time strategic planners are getting harder to find, so I'm hoping this site can act as rallying point where we can congregate and support each other.
